Eating A Hot Dog Could Shave 26 Mins Off Your Life.! [And Cause ED]

By Johnathan P Cumberwell

Eating a hot dog could cost you 36 minutes of healthy life! 😳

And eating a handful of nuts could add 26 minutes of healthy life! 👍

How does that sound?

These are among the findings from a research report (published in the journal Nature Food) that has intended to quantify the marginal health effects in minutes of healthy life gained or lost, of 5,853 foods.

We have for many years been told that every cigarette a person smokes reduces his or her life expectancy by 11 minutes. Why not apply the same concept to foods?

And what is good for your life expectancy, is normally also good for your sex drive and for avoiding erectile dysfunction.

What else did the researchers find?

  • Substituting 10% of daily caloric intake from beef and processed meats for a mix of fruits, vegetables, nuts, legumes and select seafood could help you gain 48 minutes of healthy minutes per day
  • This change could also reduce your dietary carbon footprint by one-third
  • The foods that were found to increase your lifespan were: nuts, fruits, vegetables, legumes, whole grains and some seafood
  • The foods that were found to decrease your lifespan were: highly processed meat, beef, shrimp, pork and lamb

What are my takeaways from this research?

I think it is awesome that someone has tried to quantify – in minutes – the health effects from foods. This helps make it super clear to people that eating bad foods today, can have a negative effect down the road. I think this is a fantastic way of raising awareness of healthy eating. 👍

Secondly, that there is a very strong correlation between healthy eating and your sexual functions.

So, if you have a poor diet, you are also much more likely to struggle with erectile dysfunction, either now or later on.

What is good for your health, is normally always also good for ‘getting it up’.

I have personally experienced that eating well is super important for my sexual functions. You can read about my food experience here.
